The Trump administration is reviewing U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's vetting process after a shooting in Maine.
Trump's border czar, Tom Homan, said Sunday the immigration officer accused of fatally shooting a man in Maine should not have cleared the vetting process if allegations of a violent past are true, Homan said.
Homan said red flags about the agent may have been missed. "I don't know specifically," Homan said about the status of ICE officers involved in fatal shootings.
Family members said the officer, David Brouillette, had severe mental health challenges and a history of violent behavior.
