President Trump will deliver a prime-time "Speech to the Nation" from the White House on Thursday at 9 p.m. ET, he announced on Truth Social, a senior adviser said.
A senior adviser said the speech will include election integrity and an update on Iran. "It will be a potpourri," the adviser said.
The adviser said Trump hasn't given many prime-time, direct-to-camera speeches from the White House and wants to do more of them. "We want to get into the rhythm of doing this," the adviser said. "It's powerful when you give prime-time speeches that give a sense of importance to what he's saying."
The adviser said Trump wants to pass the SAVE America Act, described as a strict voter ID law that is stalled in Congress, and may present findings from his intelligence officials about the administration's review of the 2020 election, which Trump won't admit he lost.
The adviser said fighting with Iran has resumed. "It's changing by the minute, but it's something he wants to address," the adviser said.
The adviser said specifics beyond those topics — including where in the White House the remarks will be delivered and the exact subjects to be covered — are less certain and denied online reports that the president plans to discuss the 2020 Senate elections in Georgia, which were won by two Democrats.
