Version RSThis Act may be cited as the Combating Trafficking in Transportation Act.
Section 6702 of title 49, United States Code, is amended—
in subsection (a)(3)—
in subparagraph (G), by striking and at the end;
by redesignating subparagraph (H) as subparagraph (I); and
by adding at the end the following:
a project to procure and install human trafficking awareness signage at rest stops and welcome centers along the Interstate System; and
in subsection (c), by adding at the end the following:
In the case of an eligible project described in subsection (a)(3)(H), subparagraphs (A) and (B) of paragraph (2) shall not apply.
Section 133(b) of title 23, United States Code is amended by adding at the end the following:
Projects described in section 6702(a)(3)(H) of title 49.
Section 5 of the Combating Human Trafficking in Commercial Vehicles Act (Public Law 115–99; 131 Stat. 2243) is amended—
in subsection (b)—
in paragraph (1), by striking 15 and inserting 16; and
in paragraph (2)—
in subparagraph (B), by striking and at the end;
in subparagraph (C), by striking the period at the end and inserting ; and; and
by adding at the end the following:
State departments of transportation.
in subsection (c)—
by striking Not later than and inserting the following:
Except as provided in paragraph (2), not later than
by adding at the end the following:
The Secretary shall appoint the member described in subsection (b)(2)(D) by not later than 9 months after the date of enactment of the Combating Trafficking in Transportation Act.
This Act may be cited as the Combating Trafficking in Transportation Act.
Section 5 of the Combating Human Trafficking in Commercial Vehicles Act (Public Law 115–99; 131 Stat. 2243) is amended—
in subsection (b)—

in subparagraph (C), by striking the period at the end and inserting ; and; and
by adding at the end the following:
